Pyranax in Nuts of Doom! (gift art) by RollerTroller699 Pyranax in Nuts of Doom! (gift art) by RollerTroller699
A gift art for :iconleeanix:Leeanix's birthday of her imp, Pyranax, barbecuing a particularly foolish, acorn obsessed rodent. Since I have drawn Scary Fear quite a few times, I felt like giving Pyranax a try since I am a lot more interested with his stories and adventures than whatever story the Doom video game series had to offer. If you don't know who Pyranax is, feel free to check out Leeanix'es gallery for more.

Story;
Far away on a hellish landscape, Pyranax is busy exploring and searching for things to collect into his sack, such as valuable technology. Suddenly, from the distance, the imp spots a grey and purple flying saucer, engulfed in flames, crash land in the distance.

Pyranax: Interesting, I don't remember seeing a vessel like that before, maybe it contains some useful electronics.

As Pyranax reaches the wrecked ship, a hatch on the saucer opens and a cold icy mist fills the air. The imp becomes cautious, wary of what might have been operating the saucer, so he carefully looks through the opening from a safe distance until he hears an eery noise echoing through the halls in the doorway.

Pyranax quickly hides behind a rock, away from the entrance, as the noise of footsteps grows louder, sounding like claws tapping and scratching on metal. Then, clanging noises erupt from the hallway, followed by a shrill screech! The racket of clanging, scratching and screeching grows even louder as Pyranax becomes nervous and starts to ponder on what the noise is supposed to be.

Pyranax: I can't tell what type of threatening monster could be inside that ship. It couldn't be that Hell Knight, Bologoth, it's too high pitched. Yet come to think of it, it sounds even more high pitched than the other imps, it may probably be even smaller than me.

Yet Pyranax doesn't take any chances as he carefully backs away and slowly creates a fireball just in case he cannot outrun the potential danger. The sound of clanging and footsteps reaches closer to the entrance as the little imp prepares to flee. And then!... A small object bounces off the hatch of the vessel and lands in front of Pyranax and the dreadful screeching stops.

Pyranax: ...What's this thing?...

The imp checks at first, then picks up the bizarre shape and examines it. It was nearly dome shaped and it feels smooth, covered by a rough looking cap with a stem sticking out, and it's rather hard yet also hollow. Pyranax had not seen such an odd looking thing before.

Pyranax: Hmm, so this answers what the clanging noise was, but what of the shrieks?-

Suddenly, the screeching returns, yet this time it sounds as if someone is heading right for Pyranix. The startled imp looks up to discover a small yet ferocious furry creature leaping in the air and lunging straight for him! It had a bushy tail and skinny limbs with pointed ears and a long snout! It's claws and fangs were sharp and on top of it's head bulged out two huge deranged yellow eyes! Pyranax had encountered quite a few creatures on his scavenging, yet this has to be the most hideous thing the imp had seen so far!

Pyranax quickly jumps back to evade the threat as he drops the brown object and hurls his fireball at the attacker! This did not stop the creature's screaming as the assailant bursts into flames. Yet disturbingly enough, the burning creature painfully and relentlessly drags himself towards the brown object like a zombie. Pyranax backs away a bit unnerved by this sight as the unfortunate victim snatches it's prized posession before finally roasting into a crisp!

Pyranax: ...Well that was freaky, whatever this thing was, at least it wasn't after me...

Double checking just in case someone else might have been watching him and to make sure no more threats were in the ship, Pyanax was free to explore the spacecraft for things to collect.

A while later, Pyranax emerged from the ruined ship to meet his Cacodemon friend, Leagrinn.

Leagrinn: "I heard someone screaming and had to find out what was going on! Are you alright?"

Pyranax: "I'm fine, though I'm rather disappointed with the tech in this heap of garbage. The malfunctions in there were almost as if it was deliberately trying to throw the previous owner into comedically humiliating situations. So I ripped out it's main power chords to make it stop. Anyway, the only threat I encountered was some hostile vermin I fried."

Leagrinn: "Ah, so that's what that little nut flavored nibble was!"

The End!

Now I'm going to need to say this, I enjoy Scrat... actually he's pretty much the only character in Ice Age that I like these days. It's because I find watching him get what he deserves for being cocky or just being a complete jerk to be hilarious. He's one of those type of characters I like because I laugh at them when they are in a humiliating situation, and that's pretty much about it. It's one of the reasons I had him killed here, the other reason is the number of theatrical sequels, why can't this series go extinct already!? I have a bit of a nostalgia for the first film but the rest I simply watch because of Scrat.

Thank you so much!✌️😄👍
I used some of the posts and photos Leeanix showed me to help me out on drawing Pyranax and I wanted him to stay stay faithful to his character as much as I can in the story in terms of his caution, curiosity and intelligence. As for intellect with Scrat, he was designed to be like Wile-E Coyote except even more foolish and a lot more arrogant, so Pyranax also wins there in terms of whith. The extinction joke has been used a lot, but I couldn't help it especially since there are five of these Ice Age films now.

I'm glad you like that and it's great that you heard about that joke for the first time. I did make one other post after this one.

Thank you so much for agreeing with me!✌️😄👍
I haven't watched it in German and Sid unfortunately is the main character I care about the least, especially after the only Ice Age short that focused on Sid with Scrat only getting a cameo. Hopefully Scrat along with this series won't be revived for a six film.

I'm also glad you enjoy the gift art since getting Pyranaxe's design right was the trickiest part for him. Scrat on the other hand didn't take too much effort to draw since hes on fire.

Thanks, glad you like how I drew Pyranax.👍
I actually posted this a few hours before I went to see that film and one of my biggest problems with it is that it tries to rival Zack Snider's Batman vs Superman in cramming in as much trash as possible when the main plot sould have been enough, this include the countless pairings that constantly poke their heads out with nearly all the central characters. Other than Scrat, the film was visually impressive but that does nothing to save it from being the sorriest excuse of the series. I liked seeing the dinosaurs in the third one, but I don't care all too much about that one either.

True, the animation was pretty good. I also did have a problem with all the parings, some characters just don't need to be paired.

Thank you so much and you're welcome!🎊✌️😄👍🎉
I'm glad you like how I drew Pyranax and that I got his character right since the reference sheets and some of your stories of him helped me out.
I pretty much seen all of the Ice Age films now that I came back from the theatures and it only further justifies why I drew Scrat getting killed (I'm thinking of writing a fun review bashing it in my next journal).
I like that Pyranax is the cautious collector that uses his wit to solve a situation against threats. And I couldn't leave out Leagrinn since she's a great friend to Pyranax.
It's a pleasure drawing this for your birthday.

Good gift for your friend, man. :)

BTW, I agree that Ice Age is overplayed by now.

I don't really get why Blue Sky has to keep puking these sequels out.

It took me a while to draw and color Pyranax and Scrat was only around ten minutes to draw. Yeah at least Scrat and his acorn can rest in peace. The first Ice Age film actually felt like an Ice Age since the tone was greyish and cold not to mention it's the only film with Neanderthals, while the sequels felt more like summer time with ice imported from Antarctica on a daily basis. As for the plot of this fifth film... the creators used the frozen alien ship in the cave scene from the first film as the trigger with Scrat causing the conflict of an asteroid becoming the film's antagonist. I agree, Scrat needs his own feature film unless someone on Youtube collected every scene with Scrat to make a movie out of.

Pretty much counters Vanilla Ice's theme from the trailer to the first one.
There has to be something else Blue Sky should be doing now. Glad you like it.
